Error:
  • LED alternate blinking in orange and green 7 times
  • The waste ink absorber is full [5B00]
Solution:
  • Reset the waste ink absorber
Reset Canon iP3000 error Waste ink absorber full [5B00]
STEP 1 - Enter Service Mode
Preparation: Connect USB cable, connect Power cable and the machine power turned off.
1). Press and hold the Resume/Cancel button
2) Press and hold the Power button (do not release both buttons.)
3) Release the Resume/Cancel button (do not release the Power button.)
4) While holding the Power button, 
5).Press Resume/Cancel button 2 times, 
6). Rlease the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons together.
About point 4): while holding the Power button, press and release the Resume/Cancel button 1 time, then press and hold the Resume/Cancel button 1 time, then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons together.
Note: When the LED stops blinking and light green, it means the printer is in Service Mode. BUT, if the LED continues to blinking and lights orange, that means the printer is not in Service Mode. Repeat the procedure to enter Service Mode.
STEP 2 - Reset printer
7) Press the Resume/Cancel button according to the list below

8) To reset "The waste ink absorber is full", press the Resume/Cancel button 4 times and press the Power button to execute. When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically (returns to Table 1).


STEP 3 - Set the Destination
9) Press the Resume/Cancel button 5 times and press the Power button to enter the Destination settings mode (Table 1)

10) Press the Resume/Cancel button according to the list below and press the Power button to execute.

Return to the menu selection
Example:
To destination Japan. Press the Stop/Reset button 1 time then press the Power button. When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically (returns to Table 1).
To other than Japan, support of CD-R printing (A4): iP3000. Press the Stop/Reset button 4 times then press the Power button. When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically (returns to Table 1).
STEP 4 - EEPROM Initialization
Important:
After setting the destination to be sure to initialize the EEPROM. The destination setting may not be valid unless the EEPROM is initialized after destination settings.
11) Press the Stop/Reset button 3 times then press the Power button to EEPROM Initialization (Table 1). When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically (returns to Table 1).

STEP 5 - EEPROM Information Print
Note:
To make sure all goes well do the EEPROM information print.
12) Load the paper first then press the Resume/Cancel button 2 times (look at Table 1) then press the Power button to execute. When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically (returns to Table 1).

13) If all goes well, turn off the printer. Press the Power button to TURN OFF the printer, wait for 10 seconds, and then turn it ON again. Finish.
