How to Reset Canon Pixma G3000 Series error Ink Absorber Full [5B00]

Operator Call Errors
- Cycles of blinking: 8 times
- Error: Ink absorber becomes almost full
- Error code: [1700]
Service Call Errors
- Cycles of blinking: 7 times
- Error: Ink absorber full
- Error code: [5B00]
Solution: Reset the printer
Reset Canon Pixma G3000, G3100, G3200, G3300, G3400, G3500, G3600, G3700, G3800, G3900 Error Ink Absorber Full [5B00]
To perform the reset, the printer must be in Service Mode.
STEP 1 - Enter Service Mode
- Turn off the printer
- Press and hold the STOP button
- Press and hold the ON button while not releasing the STOP button
- Release the STOP button while still holding the ON button
- While holding the ON button, press the STOP button 5 times and then release both the ON and STOP buttons simultaneously.
Note: To start the machine in Service Mode without the scanner, hold the ON button and press the STOP button 6 times.
STEP 2 - Reset Error Ink Absorber Full [5B00]
There are two options to reset error Ink Absorber Full for Canon Pixma G3000 Series:
Reset with Canon Service Tool v.4718
- Enter Service Mode
- Download and extract Canon Service Tool v.4718
- Open Canon Service Tool v.4718
- Load A4 or Letter paper
- Print EEPROM information before resetting
- Clear the Ink Counter and select MAIN, then click SET
- Select your region and click SET
- Print EEPROM information after resetting
- Compare the EEPROM information before and after the reset
- Close Canon Service Tool v.4718
- Turn off the printer and wait 10 seconds
- Turn on the printer, it is now ready to use.
