How to Fix Canon Pixma MP610 error Ink Absorber Full [5B00, 5B01]
Error:
- The ink absorber is supposed to be full.
Message on the LCD:
- Ink absorber full. Service required.
Error codes:
- 5B00: Main ink absorber is full (overseas) or
- 5B01: Main ink absorber is full (Japan).
Instructions for Resetting Canon Pixma MP610 Error Ink Absorber Full [5B00, 5B01]
Step 1: Enter Service Mode
- Connect the USB cable and power cable to the printer and ensure that it is turned off
- Press and hold the Stop/Reset button
- Press and hold the ON/OFF button while still holding the Stop/Reset button
- Release the Stop/Reset button but keep holding the ON/OFF button
- Press and release the Stop/Reset button 2 times, then release both buttons
- If the LED stops blinking and turns green, it means the printer is in Service Mode. If it continues to blink and turns orange, repeat the process
Step 2: Reset the Printer
- Press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of times according to the menu selection mode (Table 1)
- Load paper and press the Stop/Reset button 4 times, then press the ON/OFF button to execute
- Wait for the printer to automatically print "D=000.0" at the top left of the paper. The printer will return to the menu selection mode automatically when complete
Step 3: Set the Destination
- Press the Stop/Reset button 5 times and press the ON/OFF button to enter the Destination settings mode (Table 1)
- Press the Stop/Reset button the specified number of times according to the desired destination (Table 2) and press the ON/OFF button to execute. The printer will return to the menu selection mode automatically when complete
Step 4: EEPROM Initialization
- After setting the destination, be sure to initialize the EEPROM for the destination to be valid
- Press the Stop/Reset button 3 times and press the ON/OFF button for EEPROM Initialization (Table 1). The printer will return to the menu selection mode automatically when complete
Step 5: EEPROM Information Print
- Load paper and press the Stop/Reset button 2 times, then press the ON/OFF button to execute (Table 1)
- Turn off the printer by pressing the ON/OFF button and wait for 10 seconds before turning it on again
- The reset process is complete.
